Every child who has ever dreamt of having some sort of special power to call their own, they would scream at you for lying when you told them this place was a living, breathing nightmare.
When the 'normals' learned that there were indeed people out there that had special techniques...They took to capturing them, showing off their powers for sport and a little extra coin. These very same people who were once thought to be just humans, are now treated as if they were just another pet.
Most have troubles even buying a meal without proving that they do in fact have an owner of some sort. The richer folks have taken to training and fighting the gifteds...while others have taken to placing the gifteds in cages to exploit them. Others are used and abused daily. Most gifteds are bought, traded, and sold to either be fought against each other, or placed in cages for the 'normals' to view. This has become the only way for them to gain any sources to survive. And how do we distinguish them from one another?
Why...the tattoo that is placed on every gifteds skin. The barcode across the right side of their necks. This barcode is functional. It is used for what I have previously stated. The buying, selling, and trading of gifteds.
There seems to be nothing the gifteds can do against this monstrosity but obey their owners and move along day by day. Will anyone stand up to the 'normals'? Or will all the gifteds simply accept their fate and struggle through each day of their lives?
